DEPOSITION:
"Henrico County, Virginia Deeds, Wills, Etc. 1688-1697" (LDS microfilm 31763, item 2), page 336:
On August 1, 1692 James Lockett gave a deposition in a case before the Henrico County Court involving hogs that were alleged to have been stolen. From his age we deduce that he was born about 1675. On the same day his brother Benjamin Lockett gave a deposition in the same case. He was about 23 years of age. It appears that Benjamin can write his own name and that James cannot.
