On April 16, 1759 John Lockett and his wife Mary of Chesterfield Co. sell to Thomas Lockett for £30 a tract in Chesterfield Co. on the north side of a branch of Deep Creek and containing 197 acres by estimation, being that tract left to him by the last will and testament of his father William Lockett, dec'd, and granted to the said William by patent bearing date January 12, 1746. On April 16, 1759 Thomas Lockett and his wife Lucy of Chesterfield Co. sell to John Lockett for £20 a tract in Chesterfield Co. on the south side of a branch of Deep Creek and containing 198 acres by estimation, being that tract left to him by the last will and testament of his father William Lockett, dec'd, and granted to the said William by patent bearing date January 12, 1746. It appears that John and Thomas are exchanging the tracts alotted to them by their father's will.
On February 28, 1769 John Lockett of Chesterfield Co. conveys in trust to Joseph Ashbrooke a tract of 197 acres, more or less, in Chesterfield Co. He is indebted to the said Ashbrooke and Company for £55 12s. (6/142)

SOUTHERN KITH AND KIN, pg 32: "In Amelia W. B. 4:172, there is an inventory and appraisement of estate of John Lockett, dec'd., made April 1st, 1790, with John Lockett as Administrator, and on May 15th, 1790, sale of goods, belonging to the estate, was bought by Mary Lockett, relationship not given."

Amelia Co., Virginia Will Book 4, pg 172-73:
An inventory and appraisement of the estate of John Lockett was received and ordered to be recorded April 22, 1790. There are 27 items, none worth more than £6 -- tools, household items, no livestock, no slaves. On May 15, 1790 there was a sale arranged by John Lockett, administrator. It appears that Mary Lockett bought everything. She paid a total of £32 10s.
