Gilbert E. Swope in "History of the Big Spring Presbyterian Church, Newville, Pa., 1737-1898" presents the membership lists prepared by Rev. Samuel Wilson about 1787-89. Members of a family are presented sequentially in descending order of age. Between 'James McCurdy, 25' and 'David McCurdy, 20' we find 'Mary Morris'. She alone in her family has no specified age. It is reasonable to assume that Mary McCurdy married someone named Morris, who soon died, and that her birth date is between those of her two brothers James and David. An asterisk by her name indicates that she, like her parents and unlike her unmarried siblings, is in full communion.

SECOND HUSBAND:

John Calvert is mentioned in the probate proceedings in Elbert Co., Georgia relative to David McCurdy. He must have married a daughter of David McCurdy.
