The will of David McCurdy who died in 1834 in Williamson Co., Tennessee makes it clear that his deceased son David W. McCurdy had a least one heir. Zerilda P. McCurdy married John H. Williamson in 1838 in Williamson Co. Since all of David McCurdy's sons except John went to Arkansas after his death and since Zerilda doesn't fit into the sex/age slots of the 1830 and 1840 censuses for John McCurdy, it is reasonable to conjecture that she is the daughter of David W.

Rebecca S. McCurdy married Frederick Fisher December 23, 1834 in Williamson Co. David W. McCurdy's wife was Rebecca Andrews, and Rebecca S. McCurdy is probably his widow.

All of the brothers of David W. McCurdy have an entry in the 1830 census except his youngest brother, who was then about 14. That probably means that David W. McCurdy died before 1830. Rebecca, his widow, might be the woman 40-50 in the household of David McCurdy, David W. McCurdy's father, in 1830. However, their presumed daughter Zerilda is not there.

John McCurdy is in the Williamson Co., Tennessee tax list for the first time in 1822 and is there continuously thereafter. David McCurdy is in the list in 1825 and in 1826. David is probably John's brother (although he might be John's father), and his absence after 1826 probably means that David W. McCurdy died in about 1827.
