Service for Mr. Fred Howard Middleton will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 28, 2008 at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Marksville with Rev. Kenneth Holloway officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Moncla. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr. Middleton, age 93, of Marksville died Friday, July 25, 2008 at Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville. Born in San Diego, Texas, he moved to Marksville in 1945. He roped steers and cows from 1950 to 1970, and was the original owner of the Cowboy Store in Alexandria from 1951 to 1969. He then worked for Dominique's Stockyard from 1971 to 2006.
He is survived by his companion Sonya Gayle Dauzat of Marksville, close friends Bill Morace of Alexandria, Dr. Richard Michel of Marksville, Larry Wiley and Donna Gene Campbell of Vick, and Lionel Lavalais of Marksville.
Visitation will be held in the Hixson Brothers Funeral Home Sunday, July 27, 2008 from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until time of service Monday.
