Both John and Ollie were living in the same place April 1, 1935. It appears that "M" for "married" has been marked out and replaced by "D". Three male hired helpers are in Ollie's household.

Funeral services for John William Barnes were held at 10:00 a.m., March 9, in the chapel of Hawkins Funeral Home with Bro. May, pastor of Bridgeport Methodist Church, conducting the services. Burial was in Chico Cemetery.

Mr. Barnes was a member of the Methodist Church. He was born Feb. 24, 1884 in Wise County and died at home March 6, 1961.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. H. G. Allen of Dallas; one son, Howard Barnes, Santa Fe, New Mexico, one sister, Mrs. Ollie Hunter of Chico; and two grandchildren.
