Notes
General:
The following is on page 92 of an article by Douglas Richardson in The New England Historical and Genealogical Register (Vol 153 (1999), pgs 81-96). The article is entitled "THE ENGLISH ORIGIN AND ANCESTRY OF THE PARKER BROTHERS OF MASSACHUSETTS and of their Probable Aunt, Sarah Parker, Wife of Edward Converse".
"JACOB PARKER, immigrant to New England, bp. at Great Burstead 19 Nov 1626, as "son of John and Ann Parker"; d. intestate at Billerica, Mass., 7 Jan 1668/9. He m. Sarah ________, b. ca. 1627. Jacob was first town clerk of Chelmsford and served as selectman from 1662 until his death. His widow Sarah m. (2) at Malden, Mass., 4 Aug 1675 (as his 2nd wife), Capt. John Waite of Malden, b. ca. 1618 in England, son of Samuel and Mary (Ward) Waite of Wethersfield, Essex, and widower of Mary Hills, who d. at Malden 25 Nov. 1674. Jacob and Sarah Parker were ancestors of Franklin Pierce, 14th President of the United States."
PARKER in AMERICA:
An account of Jacob and his descendants is on pages 532-35 in Parker in America, which can be seen at http://jenningsweb.us/ParkerInAmerica.html. See notes under Jacob's brother Abraham for more details. Jacob was one of five men with surname Parker who were early settlers in Massachusetts. The following begins on page 532:
JACOB PARKER, bro. of the first Abraham of Group I., settled in Chelmsford as early as 1656. He was town clerk and held the rank of sergeant. He d. before Apl. 6, 1669, when an inventory of his estate was rendered. His w. was Sarah ____. She seems to have been the Sarah Parker, who m. Aug. 4, 1675, Cap. John Wait of Malden. Her s. Jacob Parker of Malden sold his f.'s home-stead, with a few acres of land, May 17, 1682, (deed 9-20) and, (deed 29-259), Nov. 5, 1713, Sarah Howard, Stephen Pierce and w. Tabitha, and Ebenezer Parker \emdash - all of Chelmsford \emdash - and John Flood (or Floyd) and w. Rachel; Thomas Wait and w. Mary, and Thomas Parker\emdash all of Malden\emdash and Rebecca Danforth of Billerica, sold to "our brother" Benjamin Parker of Chelmsford their rights in a meadow in Chelmsford, known as Robin Hill meadow, formerly the property of Jacob Parker of the town aforesaid. The phraseology of this deed would seem to show that there was a son Ebenezer, but it is not believed that such was the case. The Thomas Parker who signed the deed was s. of Jacob(2), deceased, and it is safe to think that Ebenezer was s. of Thomas(2), deceased; in other words, Jacob(2) and Thomas(2), being deceased, each was represented by his eldest s. Chn.:
Jacob b. about 1652.
Sarah, b. {Jan.} 14, 1653; m. Nathaniel Howard.
Thomas, b. Mch. 28, 1656.
Tabitha, b. Feb. 28, 1658; m. Stephen Peirce.
Rebecca, b. May 29, 1661; m. (1) Jonathan Danford, and (2), after 1717 Joseph Foster.
Benjamin, b. Aug. 8, 1663.
Rachel, b. Mch. 9, 1664-65; m. John Floyd.
Mary, b. Sept. 8, 1667; m. Thomas Wait.

The birth dates of all of the children are in "Vital Records of Chelmsford" published by the Essex Institute in 1914; they agree with those in Parker in America. CHELMSFORD RECORDS:
"Massachusetts, U.S., Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988", Chelmsford > Town and Land Records, with Births, Marriages, and Deaths at ancestry.com, 230 images:
At a general town meeting of the freeholders of Chelmsford the second day of March Anno Domini 1741/42 a committee was appointed to transcribe the First Book of Records to preserve the said records for the future (pg 1, image 22/230). On page 22 (image 33/230) in a comment dated 28 Dec 1747 it is pointed out that the First Book of Records was in many places torn and defaced, that in other places the births and deaths were wholly lost, and that in some places the month or year was missing.
