Notes
General:
The following is on pages 92-93 of an article by Douglas Richardson in The New England Historical and Genealogical Register (Vol 153 (1999), pgs 81-96). The article is entitled "THE ENGLISH ORIGIN AND ANCESTRY OF THE PARKER BROTHERS OF MASSACHUSETTS and of their Probable Aunt, Sarah Parker, Wife of Edward Converse".

"SARAH PARKER was born probably about 1596, and was buried at South Weald, Essex, 13 Jun 1625, as "Sara wyfe to Edward Convers." She married at Great Burstead, 29 Jun 1614, as his first wife, Edward Converse (or Combers), who was baptized at Navestock, Essex, 23 Mar 1588/9 and died at Woburn, Massachusetts, 10 Aug 1663, son of Allen Converse of Navestock and his first wife, Joanna. Edward and Sarah resided at South Weald, Essex, where several of their children were baptized before her death there in 1625.

"In 1630 Edward Converse immigrated with the Winthrop Fleet to New England, settling initially in Charlestown, Massachusetts, where he operated a ferry between Charlestown and Boston."

He remarried twice in Massachusetts. For more about Edward Converse see Douglas Richardson's article.

There is extensive information about Edward Converse in Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England, 1620-33, which can be seen online at ancestry.com.

COMMENT:

Sarah's birth year of 1596 in Richardson's article is just an educated guess. Because Sarah is mentioned in the will of her grandmother Margaret Parker signed 19 Jan 1593, we need to move her birth year back a few years to, let's say, 1592. In 1999 Richardson was unaware of the will.
