We know that the wife of William Pride of Henrico's name was Jane from a Patent wherein he was granted land for the transportation of 26 individuals, including himself and his wife, Jane. Due to the fact that a number of descendants carried the name, Halcott, I believe that the maiden name of William's wife, Jane, might have been Halcott.

"out of ye ha__iall Love and affection I have to my Daughter Wynifred ye wife of Benj'm Lockett and for her future subsistance" grants "unto my s'd Daughter & to her heires lawfully begotten of her body" a parcel of land in Henrico Co. and Bristoll Parish beginning at the mouth of the Devideing Branch. It adjoins John Steward's line and the land of Col. Lygon. If Wynifred should die without such lawful heirs, then the land is to pass to William's son Hollcot and his heirs, and then for want of such issue to William's son William and his heirs, and then for want of such issue to William's son John and his heirs.
