Dr. Henry L. Reese, 94, Dies Tuesday In Seattle
Dr. Henry L. Reese, 94, born in Rose Valley near Kelso, died Tuesday in Seattle.
Dr. Reese was the son of the Rev. T. M. Reese and Caroline Huntington Reese, pioneers of Cowlitz County. He was born on Oct. 17, 1872.
He was graduated from the University of Washington with an A.B. degree in 1889, received his master's degree there in 1891 and graduated from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, in 1894.
Dr. Reese practiced medicine in Seattle until retirement. He also served on the boards of the Swedish and Providence Hospitals in that city.
He taught at the University of Washington while completing his master's degree; was a charter member and life member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity; was a member of the Medical Volunteer Corps in World War I; was a medical examiner in World War II, and on the Selective Service Advisory Board since then.
Dr. Reese was widely known in the Seattle area and by many of the pioneer family groups in Cowlitz County.
Survivors include his wife, Frieda of Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Edward L. Overman of Portland; a niece, Mabyl M. Elkins, and a nephew, Shirley R. Marsh, both of Longview.
