General:

The 1825 will of William Rees of Putnam Co., Georgia mentions his son John. This John may be the John W. Reese who married Jane P. Guffin in Newton Co., Georgia in 1828. However, that John W. Reese may be the John W. Reese who is a son of Eaton and Sukey Reese of Morgan Co., Georgia and is mentioned in a distribution of assets dated 11 Dec 1824. See notes under Eaton Reese.

William's son John was in business with his brother Thadeus in Putnam Co. in 1820. On 25 Apr 1820 Thadeus B. Rees and John Rees trading under the firm T. B. and J. Rees sell two town lots in Eatonton (Putnam Co. Deed Records I330).
