William Wheeler Reese, son of Solomon Reese, was born in 1816 on Duck Creek in Maury Co, TN. He married Frances J. Halbert, daughter of Susan Poindexter and Martin Halbert, on 19 July 1838 in Lincoln Co., TN. They migrated to Arkansas in 1839, settling in Cove Creek twp., Washington Co., Ark, where they lived most of their adult lives.

Late in life they moved to Mansfield, Sebastian County, Arkansas and moved into a house provided by their grandson Samuel A. Hodges, son of Susan P. (Reese) and Anson Hodges.
