This Louis Delisle is in the parish records of Kaskaskia for the first time in 1770. The Louis Delisle who was born in Detroit April 29, 1714 and who died, probably in Kaskaskia, before May 1760 married in Kaskaskia November 6, 1752. It is highly likely that he is the father of young Louis, who is described once as a first cousin of old Louis's niece Elisabeth Delisle (daughter of Charles) and again as a first cousin of Elisabeth's sister Charlotte. See the marriage records of Elisabeth and Charlotte. In both cases the names of Jean Baptiste Delisle and Louis Delisle are joined together, and they are said to be first cousins of one or the other of the two sisters. Hence is it highly probable that Jean Baptiste and Louis are brothers.
