In 1880 Rhoda Rease (69, Va, Wd) is living in Davidson Co., Tennesee with her son Napolean B. Rease (41, Tn, farmer) and his wife. Her daughter Sophia Rease (38, Tn, S) lives there also.
MOTHER:
There are two marriage records for John Reese in Bedford Co., Virginia in the 1790s -- Ann Brown in 1792 and Mary Bowyer in 1794. Jacob's father John Reese had a sister (Rhoda) who married Ann's brother James Brown; it is thus highly likely that Jacob's father did marry Ann Brown. There is another John Reese in the Bedford Co. personal tax lists from 1797 until 1801. The other John Reese is probably the husband of Mary Bowyer, but it is possible that Jacob's father had 3 wives. If Jacob's father married Mary Bowyer, then she is the mother of Jacob; otherwise Jacob's mother is Ann Brown.
