14266-7. vii. Thankful Strong (dau. of Jedediah Strong and Freedom Woodward) b. April 15. 1672, m. (on same day with her sister Hannah's marriage) March 4, 1691, Dea. Thomas Root b. April 13, 1667 (son of Thomas Root, Jr., of Northampton, and Abigail Alvord b. Oct. 6. 1647, dau. of Alexander Alvord and Mary Voar): a farmer in Northampton and after 1716, in Coventry, where he d. Nov. 13, 1756, aged 89. She d. April 16, 1742, aged 70. He was one of the first two deacons of the First Ch., in Coventry: a selectman and town-clerk for the first twelve years at Coventry.

MARRIAGE:

On page 952 Benjamin W. Dwight says that Thankful married on March 4, 1691, the same day her sister Hannah married. "Massachusetts, U.S., Town and Vital Records, 1620-1988" says December 1, 1691.
