On August 9, 1822 Russell Vaughan and Elizabeth, his wife, of Culpeper Co. sold to George T. Thorn of the same county for $302.50 a tract of about 55 acres in Culpeper Co. on the south side of Mount Poney Mountain. It is part of a tract conveyed to Vaughan by Frederick Kabler. On August 13, 1822 Russell Vaughan and Elizabeth, his wife, of Culpeper Co. sold to William Vaughan and Joel Hitt of the same county for $400 a tract of about 221 acres in Culpeper Co. which Russell Vaughan had purchased from Frederich Kabler October 19, 1801. (OO/34)

On August 16, 1822 Russell Vaughan of Culpeper Co. sold to John Hitt for $75 twenty head of sheep, one old waggon, plough, _____ gun, 2 beds and sundry Carpess [sic] tools. (OO/47)
