Nancy J. Hinds is Margaret's niece, the daughter of Archibald Hinds of Wayne Co., Kentucky. In the census, she is also in his household.
In 1860 neither Elliot Wade nor his wife can be found, but two of his sons are in Adams Co. in the household of Lewis R. Parker, who grew up in Kentucky in Wayne and Pulaski Counties and who married Sarah E. Wade. Emily Hinds is another daughter of Archibald Hinds (see 1850 census). Mary E. Hinds may also be a daughter of Archibald who is in the 1850 census as Eliza M.

LAND:
On July 12, 1852 Eliot P. Wade of Adams Co., Illinois, paid $450 to Thomas A. Hinds of Adams Co. for all his interest in the lands, slaves, and personal property of whatsoever kind bequeathed to John Brady by the last will and testament of Joseph Hinds. The deed clarifies the ownership of Thomas A. Hinds as follows: 1) at the time of the death of Joseph Hinds, John Brady lived in Wayne Co., Kentucky and for many years continued to live there, 2) he moved to Illinois where he "became known and called by the name of John Hinds", 3) he married and died intestate leaving one son Thomas A. Hinds as his sole heir at law, 4) at his death he had never disposed of the property that he inherited from Joseph Hinds, and 5) Thomas A. Hinds has now arrived at the age of 21 and has not disposed of the property that his father inherited. (Bk L, pg 650-53, Wayne Co., Ky)
This purchase is a bit odd in that there are 3 men (John S. Wray, John B. Hinds, Archibald Hinds) who in the early 1850's live on plantations in Wayne Co. inherited from Joseph Hinds and who are buying the interest of other heirs so as to increase their proportional ownership of where they themselves live. For example, each of the 3 has bought the interest of the other 2 in the place where he himself lives. Eliot P. Wade is an heir by right of his wife, and in January 1851 he sold their interest to the Joseph Hinds home place to John S. Wray. Why is he now buying a small partial interest in property in a place far from where he lives, when other men presumably have a stronger motivation to buy it? As a sequel to this purchase note the deed of December 6, 1858 from Eliot Wade's heirs to John S. Wray.
DEATH:
The obituary of Sarah E. Wade suggests that her parents (Elliott P. Wade and Margaret Hinds) died in the early 1850's.
