BOND GENEALOGY A History Of the Descendants of Joseph Bond Born 1704, in Wiltshire, England; Died 175-, in North Carolina. compiled by Samuel B. Garrett, 1913, Muncie, Ind.; pg 44, image 50/278:
60. BENJAMIN BOND (John-Joseph), born Oct. 19, 1781, in Guilford County, N. C.; born a Quaker; his membership in Center Monthly Meeting in North Carolina was changed in 1795 to New Hope Monthly Meeting in Green County, Tenn., and two years later to Lost Creek Monthly Meeting in Jefferson County, Tenn. The minutes of this last meeting says of Benjamin Bond, under date of Feb. 2, 1801:
"Grassy Valley preparative meeting (located a few miles N. E. of Knoxville) complains of Benjamin Bond for attending a marriage consummated contrary to discipline and dancing, and using bad language."
This was continued through the meetings held in March, April and May, when he was disowned from being a member. I have not been successful in learning the further history of this Benjamin Bond, except that he married and was the father of a family and lived in Tennessee at least a few years. He had sons:
276. I. James (?).
277. II. Benjamin, Jr. (?).
278. III. William, and others whose names I have not learned.
William, it is said, was called "Whig Billy Bond" and that he married his first cousin, Clara, daughter of Isaac Bond. I have been unable to obtain further definite knowledge of his family or their present place of abode.
