Notes
General:
The following, slightly reformatted to improve readability, is from Byberry Waltons (Norman Walton Swayne, 1958), pg 35:
53 DAVID WALTON (4), died probably 7.24.1777, and certainly by
1779, son of 9 Malachi Walton & Mary Gandonett of Bristol, Bucks Co., Pa., married Jan. 4, 1774 (sic) Rebecca Severns, alive about 1784, daughter of Daniel Severns. The marriage is from records of Christ Church, Phila., which say Secverns. In a deed Oct. 29, 1768 in which David's brother William and their stepfather Joseph Severns were grantors, David is mentioned as another son of Mary Severns.
In records of St. Mary's P. E. Church of Burlington, N. J., Mary, fifth child of David & Rebecca, is said to have been born Feb. 28 and baptized May 30, 1771 at Bristol. There is some error here unless they had children before marriage. Possibly first child was misread fifth child and 1777 misread 1771. Apparently daughter Mary had died by May 12, 1777, however, for she is not in her father's will. Neither is son David, born a little after it was drawn, and baptized in Newtown about 1780. Isaac Comly's obituary notes say David died as first above, but do not identify him.
Aug. 19, 1775 David was a private in Bensalem company. Apr. 1, 1774 David & Rebecca of Upper Salford Twp, Phila. Co., deeded to Michael Scholl 251 acres there, part of land of Dr. Francis Gandonett, David's grandfather, and David had rec'd it by warrant of resurvey the same year. The will of David of Bensalem Twp, drawn May 12, 1777, proved in Bucks Co. May 2, 1779, named wife Rebecca, to have a Negro Wench, three daughters, Elizabeth, Rebecca and Catharean, none yet 18, each to have 20 pounds, brother William and brother in law Benjamin Severns son of Daniel Severns. Tax lists of Bensalem Twp list Rebecca 1779 one horse one cow, 1783 tax .6, 1784 one dwelling four whites.
If Mary really was the 5th child there must have been at least these six:
157 Elizabeth NFM (no further mention)
158 Rebecca NFM
159 Catharine m Abraham Vandegrift d ab 1857
160 A child NFM
161 Mary b 1771 d prob. by 1777
162 David b 1777 d 1860 m 1806 Jane Vansant. b 1785 d 1870
