The following is from Byberry Waltons (Norman Walton Swayne, 1958), pg 29:

45 NATHANIEL WALTON (4), alive 1737, son of 6 Benjamin Walton & Elizabeth of Byberry Twp, Phila. Co., Pa., possibly may be the Nathan of Bucks Co. who was head of a family of one male over 16, one male under 16 and one female, in the 1790 Pa. census. I can place the other three Nathans in that census, but not this one. However, it seems more likely that Nathaniel died young or moved far away rather than that he shortened his name.
