GERMANNA RECORD NO. 1, pg 30:

According to the "Journal of the Society of Germanna Colonies" Vol. 1, No. 3, p. 79, Harman Hitt was born in 1721 and died in Fauquier Co., Va. in 1820, aged 99 years. His wife was Mary Weaver, daughter of Tilman and Ann Elixabeth (Cuntz) Weaver, and granddaughter of Jacob and Anna Weaver, and of Joseph Cuntze and his first wife Anna Gertrud Reinschmidt, all 1714 immigrants to Germanna.

INHERITANCE:

The will of Mary's father Tilman Weaver on page 13 of Fauquier Co. Will Book 1, dated December 14, 1759 and proved March 27, 1760, is relatively complicated. The two items that involve Mary follow:

"I give & bequeath to my Daughter Anne Kemper Wife to John Kemper and my Daughter Mary Hitt wife of Harman Hitt one Tract of Land lying [in] Culpepper County and containing four hundred acres to be equally divided between them which said tract I give to them and their Heirs forever"

"I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary Hitt Wife of Harman Hitt eight Dubloons cash to buy a Negroe with in the room of one given her before by me which Died."
