General:

The John Carnell who was the administrator of the estate of Anthony Carnell was probably his son. The Patrick Carnall who bought 50 acres in Essex Co. in 1708 and the William Karnall who sold land in Essex Co. in 1731 and in 1732 may or may not be sons of Anthony.

The following abstract is from ESSEX COUNTY, VIRGINIA RECORDS (John Frederick Dorman, 1963):

February 10, 1706/07 -- Bond of John Carnell as administrator of Anthony Carnell. Unto Majr. James Boughan of Essex Co., Gent. For £500 sterling. Securities: Henry Newton, Henry Newton, Junr. Signed by John Carnell, Henry (O) Newton, Henry (O) Newton, Junr. Witnesses: Salvator Muscoe, Phillip Lake. (Essex Co. Deeds & Wills No 12, 1704-1707, pg 358)
