David C. Calvert said 3 times in the census that he was born in Illinois, and once in Tennessee. In 1880 his son D. E. Calvert (28, Tx) said that his father was born in Illinois and that his mother was born in North Carolina. Note that the one time when David C. Calvert was said to have been born in Tennessee, the birth states of his wife and son were wrong.
