See 1850 census for her daughter Abigail Hinds married to Matthew Gray. Abigail's mother Martha Hinds is living with them. Martha Hinds and Patsy Carrigan are the same person. See notes under Samuel Hinds concerning Abigail for further clarification.

Patsy Carrigan was a widow when she married Samuel Hinds. 'Carrigan' is the surname of her previous husband. Consider the following indenture on pages 171-72 of Book C, Wayne Co., Kentucky Deed Records. The term of apprenticeship is probably six years.

This Indenture made this 16th day of September 1820. Between Patsy Hinds Late Patsy Carigan of the one part and James Lynch of the other part both of the County of Wayne and State of Kentucky Witnesseth that the said Patsy Hinds on her part doth bind her son Hugh Caregan as an apprentice to the said James Lynch for the term of ____ years which commenced on the Seventh day of July Last.
And the above mentioned James Lynch on his part doth bind himself to give the said apprentice Hugh Carigan Ten months schooling & also to learn the said Hugh the waggon making trade as it respects the wood work and to give the said apprentice as much other Insite as in his power Lies toward the ironging of waggons And the said Lynch doth further bind himself to furnish the said apprentice Hugh Carigan with good and sufficient diet Lodging and Cloathing suitable for an apprentice and doth further agree to give to the said apprentice a good set of waggon making tools to be worth fifty dollars and also to furnish the said Hugh with a decent suit of Cloaths at the expiration of the Term of which the said Hugh Carigan is bound as apprentice.
