The ages of the children suggest that Nancy's husband William Green Hines died in about 1868 although Find-a-Grave says that he died 3 Oct 1851. There is no photograph of a tombstone. Neither Nancy nor her husband are in the 1860 census.

In 1880 Nancy Hines (49, aunt, Wd, Ky NC NC, blind) is living in Pulaski Co., Kentucky in the household of Parrot Baugh (33, Ky Ky NC, farmer), his wife Sophia E. Baugh (24, Ky Ky Ky), and their one child. Also in the household are James Able (45, father-in-law, Ky NC NC) and Mandy J. Able (53, mother-in-law, Ky Va Va). Nancy Hines's maiden name was Abel. She is Parrot's aunt because her sister Priscilla Abel, married to William Baugh, is Parrot's mother. James Able is in fact Nancy's brother. Mandy J. Able is his wife. Her maiden name was Vaught, and she is undoubtedly related to Parrot's wife, who was Sophia E. Vaught. However, James and Mandy are not anyone's father and mother in-law. There is also a child Mary E. Hines (7), classified as a cousin, in the household. I don't know who her parents are, or were.

In 1880 Joseph J. Hines (17, works on farm, Ky Ky Ky) is living in Pulaski Co. in the household of James Richardson (58).
