The death certificate of his daughter Cordelia Frances Seamon, who died 9 Mar 1942 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky, identifies her father as Thos. Jefferson Hines, born in Casey Co. and her mother as Mary Watson, born in Casey Co.

MARRIAGE:

In 1860 John Hines, father of Thomas, and William Watson, father of Mary, are living in District 1 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky. Thomas and Mary presumably met each other in Pulaski Co. By 1870 Mary and 4 of her siblings are living in Pike Co., Indiana in the household of her older brother Amon Watson even though her parents are still alive. In 1870 Thomas is probably living in Pulaski Co. with his parents, but John Hines is not in the 1870 census. Thomas and Mary married in Pike Co. in 1871. They may have remained for a while in Indiana or they may have gone immediately to Kentucky. In 1880 they are living in Pulaski Co.

In 1869 Thomas's older brother Ephraim Hines married Mary's sister Catherine Watson in Pike Co. In 1878 Thomas's younger brother John W. Hines married Mary's sister Nancy F. Watson in Pike Co., and in 1877 Mary's brother John C. Watson married Thomas's sister Louisa Hines in Pulaski Co.
