LAND:
On August 7, 1784 a tract of 150 acres with extensive frontage on Stevens Creek and adjoining land surveyed for Solomon Newsom was certified to George Delaughter. He received other land grants in Edgefield Co. On January 8, 1799 George Delaughter purchased 100 acres within a tract granted to Solomon Newsom and with frontage on Stephens Creek. Ludbrook Lee was a witness (Book 17, pgs 132-35, image 70/614).
In George Delaughter's will, dated June 3, 1830, he bequeaths to one of his daughters a tract "formerly belonging to Charlotte Lee granted to S. Newsom".
