Reverend Johann Nicolaus Dentzer born about 1644 probably at Marburg, Germany; died after 1701; married November 6, 1665 at Marburg to Barbara Catherine Giebel, a daughter of Heinrich Giebel, who had another daughter Maria Elizabeth Giebel of Weinheim. Three children have been identified.
Reverend Johann Nicolaus Dentzer entered Giessen University on October 19, 1659. He was a student of theology and became a Lutheran minister. Among his pastorates were:

The children of Reverend John Nicholas (son of Simon) and Barbara Catherine (Giebel) Dentzer:
1) Maria Elizabeth Dentzer, baptized May 26, 1672 at Birkenau, Germany. She was named for her mother's sister, Maria Elizabeth Giebel "who at that time was in the service of the court of Abraham Wolfgang von Bonn at Weinheim, our young nobleman." She married April 25, 1692 at Kirchain, Germany to Reverend Anthony Jacob Henckel.
2) Craft Rudolph Dentzer, died April 4, 1714 at Eschborn (Eschbronn), Germany. He was one of the sponsors for George Rudolph Henckel born at Daudenzell, Germany in 1701.
