On 4 Dec 1843 Elizabeth Jones, widow of Johnathan Jones, appeared before the county court of Carroll Co., Tennessee in order to apply for a widow's pension based on the Revolutionary War service of her deceased husband. She is 78 years old. She states that she married Johnathan Jones in Chester District, South Carolina on March 8, 1787, that he drew a pension of $60 a year for several years before his death, and that he died August 4, 1835 in Chester District since which time she has remained a widow.
