CIVIL WAR:

Charles A. Essix and his brother Alfred Essix were both in the 34th Arkansas Infantry, Company C. Their brothers Andrew, William and Henry are not in THE ROSTER OF CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS. I have not been able to find Alfred in the census in 1870 and later. It may be that Charles is in Polk Co., Missouri in 1870.
