Notes
General:
AGE:
James is mentioned in the will of his father, written 24 Sep 1731. The will states that he and his brother John are the eldest sons and that John and Joseph are not yet 26 years old. Of the 3 brothers only James is an executor. He is probably the eldest son.
James is mentioned in the 1705 will of his mother's brother Benoni Lee. He is said to be her third son. Jonathan is her second son. Presumably Jonathan and another son died before 1731, leaving James as the eldest surviving son.
ESSEX CO., NEW JERSEY:
The following references to James Hinds are from Documents Relating to the Colonial History of the State of New Jersey, Vol XXX, Calendar of New Jersey Wills, Administrations, Etc., Vol II--1730-1750. It seems likely that these documents refer to this James Hinds, but there might have been more than one James Hinds in Essex Co.
