Death of Mrs J. M. Kendricks.
After a long lingering illness covering a period of several years, the spirit of Mrs. J. M. Kendricks departed from this "vale of tears." Dr. Cameron had been her physician for a number of years and many times was called to see her, his last visit being only a few days ago. Heretofore she had always rallied but this time she was beyond medical assistance.
She died Wednesday morning at the age of 65 years at her home near Newville. She was the widow of the late James M. Kendricks, who preceded her to the grave several years. The funeral will take place at 9 a. m. Friday from the residence of James Shelton, the interment to be made in the Newville cemetery. - Transcribed by E.
Note that according to Tehama County Pioneers by Keith Lingenfelter, Elveneigh first married Henry Logue who died in Sacramento in 1849.
Enumerated as Elvina Logue with John L. Logue on the 1850 St. Louis Co, MO, U.S. Federal Census. The Logues were recorded in the home of Julia James, mother of Elvina. John was reported as married within the year.
