Nimrod was named an heir in the will of his uncle, Nimrod Hitt, probated in Culpeper County on 19 September 1825.
Nimrod became a doctor and practiced medicine in Augusta County, Virginia. Nimrod had two children that are believed to have died very young. Nimrod posted a guardian bond in 1835 for the orphans of John and Elizabeth (Hitt) Green; Augusta County, Virginia Will Book 20, page 510, 1835. Nimrod and his family were listed in the 1860 Federal Census for Augusta County, Virginia as follows: Nimrod age 56 born in Virginia, a farmer with $6,900 real estate and $6,217 in personal property; wife Elizabeth age 47 born in Virginia; and one daughter, Caledonia age 2.
Nimrod's Will is recorded in Augusta County, Virginia Will Book 39, page 462, 1863.
