PRESENCE IN CHESTERFIELD CO.:

In 1759 Benjamin and his brother-in-law Joseph Ashbrook are the executors of the estate of Benjamin's sister Jane Lockett. See notes under Jane Lockett.

Chesterfield Co. Order Book No. 3, pg 92 (LDS microfilm 30909):

November 1760 -- Benjamin Locket and Joseph Ashbrooke are plaintiffs in a lawsuit. The defendants do not appear and the plaintiffs receive a default judgement.

SKK:

SOUTHERN KITH AND KIN, pg 32: died circa 1785, apparently without issue. Was guardian of Abraham in 1764.

WILL:

The following will on page 344 of Amelia Co. Will Book 3 is unsigned:

I Benjamin Lockett of the County of Amelia do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament as followeth that after my Just Debts are Paid my will and desire is that all my Estate Real and Personal be Equally Divided Between William Lockett John Lockett, Thom's Lockett and Abraham Lockett Winefred Lockett and my sister Asbrook to they and their heirs forever I appoint and ordain John P_____ Richard Ogelly and my Brother William Lockett Executors of this my Last will and Testament Revoking all other wills By me made In Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this 8th day of May 1785.
