The age is significantly wrong. Little B. is probably about 53. Otherwise it is realistic. The daughters are married, and the two males 16-25 are his two younger sons.

DISPOSITION of the ESTATE:

On November 28, 1823 Jourdan Reese, Micajah Stone, Dan'l W. Harrison by his attorney James D. Cole, John H. Leftwich, Joel Leftwich as agent and partner of his brother Littlebury Leftwich, James D. Cole, and Joel Leftwich in his own right, joint heirs and distributees to the estate of Col. Littlebury Leftwich, dec'd, late of Bedford Co., Virginia, enter into an agreement with Francis[sic] Leftwich, widow and relict of the said Col. Littlebury Leftwich, dec'd. The agreement asserts that the widow personally appeared at the October session of the Court in Bedford Co. and renounced the provisions made for her in the last will and testament of her deceased husband and thereby became justly entitled by the laws of Virginia to her dower of one third of the decedent's estate both real and personal during her natural life. The previously named distributees and lawful heirs, living in the state of Tennessee and desirous of closing their business in the state of Virginia and desirous of leaving the widow of their late deceased father in a comfortable and respectable manner, and further in consideration of the widow relinquishing all of her right of dower in the estate, give to and put in possession of the widow the following property, to wit, the late dwelling house of the decedent and 100 acres of land attached thereto. The land is described by metes and bounds and is on the west side of the road leading from Liberty by Hails ford on the Stantoun[Staunton] River. The widow will also receive 3 named slaves and an equal share with the other legatees of the remainder of the estate, apart from land and slaves. On December 4, 1823 Jourdan/Jorden Reese, Polly Reese, Daniel W. Harrison, Jane/Jinney Harrison, Micajah Stone, Sally Stone, James D. Cole, Eglantine Cole, John H. Leftwich and Jane Leftwich his wife, Littlebury Leftwich, and Joel Leftwich, heirs and distributes by the last will and testament of Col. Described by metes and bounds. (Bedford Co., Virginia Deed Book 19, pg 187, image 346/436)

On the same date the same heirs sell to Lodowick McDaniel of Bedford Co. for $118.50 to them in hand paid a tract of 39.5 acres in Bedford Co. on the west side of the road leading from Liberty across Staunton at Hail's ford. The metes and bounds description mentions Mrs. Leftwich's line. (Book 19, pg 189, image 347/436)

On December 3, 1823 the same heirs sell to Melancthon Turner of Bedford Co. for $369 to them in hand paid a tract of 142.25 acres in Bedford Co. on the road from Liberty to Hail's ford and Staunton River. The metes and bounds description mentions the widow's line. (Book 19, pg 191, image 348/436)
