Columbia Co., Georgia deed records show that William Rees owned land in Columbia Co from 1811 to 1817. He probably lived on that land. He was probably 21 or older when he bought it, which means that this William Rees is distinct from William O. Reese, who was born in about 1806.

Among the older sons of Hugh Reese, Senior, by his first wife, Benjamin, Jeremiah, and Hugh do not have a son about 14 years old in the 1820 census. William and Moses do not have an entry in the 1820 census. William O. Reese may or may not be a son of Hugh Reese, Senior's son William.

A William Rees married a Sarah Rees 22 Feb 1800 in Columbia Co., Georgia. That marriage may or may not involve this William.
