13-14. vii. Elder Ebenezer Strong (son of Elder John Strong of Northampton and Abigail Ford) b. in 1643, m. Oct. 14, 1668, Hannah Clapp of Dorchester, Mass., b. in 1646 (dau. of Nicholas Clapp and Sarah Clapp his cousin) a farmer and tanner at Northampton, and like his father a ruling elder in the church. The tannery (1/4 of an acre) was deeded to him by his father Dec. 15, 1688. His estate was inventoried at his death at £950, of which, personal estate £896, and real £44. He willed "all his part in the tan-yard to his son Ebenezer." He d. Feb. 11, 1729, ęt. 86. He was often selectman between 1682 and 1728, and was in early life called sergeant and deacon, and was constable in 1679. [Nicholas Clapp b. in 1602, son of Richard Clapp of England m. Sarah Clapp his cousin, sister of the celebrated Capt. Roger Clapp who m. Joanna Ford. She d. and he m. for 2d wife Mrs. Abigail Sharp widow of Robert Sharp of Brookline, Mass.]

Nov. 21, 1661, and who d. June 8, 1685): a farmer at Northampton. He d. Jan. 27, 1754, aged 84: she d. Nov. 29, 1691. No issue.
