Giles owns his home. He lived in St. Vrain in Curry Co. in 1935. Oscar W. Shoemaker and his wife lived in Muleshoe, Bailey Co., Texas in 1935.

TUCUMCARI, N.M. - O.W. "Wesley" Shoemaker, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church of House. Burial will be in Hassell Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home.

Mr. Shoemaker was born in Lufkin, Texas. In 1930 he moved to Arizona and then to the Gerhardt Valley in New Mexico in 1931. He was a trapper and had worked on several ranches. He moved to the Cunevea Basin near Ima in 1940 and worked for William Brown Giles. He was a rancher.

He was a member of the Ima New Mexico Church, where he had been superintendent and Bible class teacher.

Mr. Shoemaker was preceded in death by a son, James Carroll Shoemaker.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Shoemaker; two sons, Sonny Shoemaker of Ruidoso and Eddy Shoemaker of Ima; a daughter, Lois McIntosh of Los Lunas; two sisters, Clara Jobe of Tucumcari and Maxine Goffin of Hamilton, Texas; two brothers, George Shoemaker of Socorro and Billy Shoemaker of Childress, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

The body will be available for viewing from 9 a.m. To 7 p.m. Today and from 9 a.m. To noon Sunday at the funeral home.
