Notes
General:
The following is from Byberry Waltons (Norman Walton Swayne, 1958), pg 17:
17 CALEB WALTON (3), supposed son of 3 Thomas Walton & Priscilla Hunn of Moreland Twp, Montgomery Co., Pa., is named in a deed by which Thomas & Priscilla in 1717 granted 100 acres to their son Thomas, adjoining land of Caleb Walton. It is supposed that 3 Thomas had earlier granted some of his land to Caleb, and further supposed that Caleb was older than John, another son of Thomas & Priscilla. John rec'd 25 acres from his father in 1740. Caleb Walton witnessed the 8.15.1719 Gwynedd marriage of Joseph Burson & Rachel Potts, also the Sep. 2, 1724 marriage of Benjamin Walton & Rebecca Hummer at the house of Charles Read in Phila. The History of Montgomery Co. calls him a tenant in Moreland Twp in 1734. His supposed children, who were certainly grandchildren of Thomas & Priscilla, were named in the will of Nathaniel Walton of Mooreland, drawn Feb. 6, 1777, proved Sep. 22, 1784 in Phila., wherein Nathaniel, apparently without wife or child, named brother Henry, sisters Mary Yerkes, Rebecca Randall, Ann Boutcher and Priscilla, deceased, also Priscilla's daughter Rachel, wife of Joseph Boutcher. As eldest son of the eldest brother of his uncle Thomas Walton, Nathaniel expected to inherit 130 acres in Mooreland lately belonging to Thomas, who had died intestate. If Caleb was that eldest brother, these six were his children:
54 Nathaniel d 1784
55 Henry
56 Mary, supposed m by 1747 Josiah Yerkes b 1718 d 1793
57 Rebecca m 1757 Jacob Randall
58 Ann m 1758 Samuel Butcher
59 Priscilla d 1777
