In the Slave Schedule (Cox's Store Beat; Nov 20) he owns 16 slaves. His father-in-law David Hitt lives at 1005/1005. Three brothers-in-law, Solomon J. Hitt, James Everet and Harris Samuels, live at 1000/1000, 1002/1002 and 1006/1006, respectively.
Snedecor's Directory of Greene County for 1855-1856 (1963 reprint) has the following entry for Benjamin Williams:
Williams, Benj, planter, Boligee, Gainesville, 5, 21, 1e -- 1823
Boligee is his precinct of residence and Gainesville in his post office. He resides in Section 5, T21N R1E. 1823 is the year in which he settled in Greene Co. Note that there is another Benjamin Williams who is a planter in Pleasant Ridge.

The first 5 are contiguous for a total of 400 acres. The last 2 are contiguous for 200 acres. They are about a mile apart. The first plantation touches the land of his father-in-law David Hitt. In March 1838 Williams sold 320 acres out of the 400 acre tract (I404). There is at least one other Benjamin Williams in Greene Co. It is hard to know which land transactions correspond to which Benjamin Williams.
BETHABARA BAPTIST CHURCH:
On page 3 of the Minutes of the Bethabara Baptist Church in Laurens Co., SC (LDS microfilm 22728) Benj Williams is the 21st entry in the list of male members. This list was probably created in 1805 and then later added on to. To the right of his name: "Dismissed". He is mentioned twice in the minutes.
December 1807: "In conference delegated the brethren John Pinson Benjamin Williams to go to _____ to enquire about brother Pinson's getting drunk and report to our next church meeting"
July 8, 1809: "In conference delegated the brethren Henry Hitt, John Sadler and Benj Williams to go to the association"
