The following transcription of a burial notice was found in a book in Crawford County by Russell Warne when he was there in 2008:

"Mrs. H. M. Walton, a former resident of Cuba, died in St. Louis on Wednesday night of last week of heart failure. Her husband, S. D. Walton, her son, E. B. Walton, her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jap Butler, were here for the funeral. From April 21, 1899 Cuba items."

According to "A Register of Deaths in the City of St. Louis" (Missouri, Death Records, 1850-1931 at ancestry.com) Harriett Matilda Walton, 2654 Hickory Str., widowed, aged 57 yrs 15 days, died 12 Apr 1899 of 'La Grippe' and was to be buried in Cuba, Mo.
