The Heritage of Bedford County Virginia (2003), pg 86:

John's son John Chastain, Jr. 1st married Frances Branch and had Mary, Elizabeth, Frances & Charlotte Chastain. After the death of his wife, he married Elizabeth Logwood ca 1764, the daughter of Edmund and Jane Eke Logwood and sister of Major Thomas Logwood, who made his home on the north side of Bedford Co. before the Revolutionary War. John and Elizabeth Logwood Chastain raised their children John III, Lewis, William, Stephen, Edith and Jane Chastain in the Otterville - Lone Pine area of the county of Bedford.
