CENSUS:

In 1860 John L. Reece is living with his wife and daughter in the household of his father. His daughter is Verginna E. P. Reece and is 10 months old.

In the 1870 census John L. Reese's older brother Hubbard N. Reese is in the census twice, once as H. W. Reese in Hill Co., Texas and once as Herbert Reese in McLennan Co. H. N. Reese lived on a tract of land in Hill Co. that was on the boundary between Hill Co. and McLennan Co. The McLennan Co. census taker was probably confused as to where the county line was. In McLennan Co. Herbert Reese has a daughter Virginia who is 9 years old. In Hill Co. H. W. Reese does not have such a daughter. I believe that Virginia is John L. Reese's daughter and that in 1870 her parents are dead.
